1: You should be seated at a table, opposite your fellow candidate. If you are in different locations you must be on a video call to each other throughout the interview.

 

2: Ensure your device is charged and has a stable internet connection, preferably wifi.

3: Check your headphones are connected and charged if needed.

If you are in the same room as each other :

​

1: Alter your screen lock settings so that your screen stays open throughout the interview.

​

iOS : Go to Settings > Display & Brightness > Auto-Lock, then choose "Never".

Android : Go to Security > Screen Lock > then choose the longest time your device allows.

​

2: Turn on "Do Not Disturb"

iOS : Open Control Centre ( swipe down or up depending on your iOS version ). Tap the "focus" button.

Android : Swipe down from the top of the screen. Tap "Do Not Disturb".

If you are in different locations on a video call :

​

1: Start your video call on a different device to the one you are using for the interview. Once your video call is connected, mute your microphone - video call audio will interfere with the interview, you only need to be able to see each other.​

​

2: Turn on "Do not Disturb" on the device you are using for the interview.

​

iOS : Open Control Centre ( swipe down or up depending on your iOS version ). Tap the "focus" button.

Android : Swipe down from the top of the screen. Tap "Do Not Disturb".

 

 Once you have connected to the interview return to your video call device for the remainder of the interview.

​

3: You still need to be wearing headphones on your interview device as the interview is not designed to be played over speakers.
